This site is run by a group of literacy educators affiliated with the Center for Writing Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign who are interested in supporting one another in enacting social justice pedagogy. We seek to build teaching practices that engage our students, and ourselves, in the transformative work of developing personal awareness, understanding structural inequality, embracing difference, and committing to action in pursuit of a more just world.
